1. Who We Are

Tio is operated by Athletic Angels LLC ("we", "us", "our"), a limited liability company based in San Francisco, California, USA (EIN: 93-3785755). Our website is https://trytio.tech. You can reach us at hello@trytio.tech.

Tio is a productivity assistant for group chats on WhatsApp and Telegram. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.

2. Our Approach to Your Messages

Tio only acts when it is mentioned or when a clear task is detected (for example: a receipt to split, a reminder to set, a poll to run). We do not read, analyze, or store every message in your group chats. Messages that don't trigger Tio are ignored and never leave your chat platform.

3. Information We Collect

• Account info: phone number, WhatsApp or Telegram user ID, and display name.
• Group info: chat IDs and names of groups where Tio has been added.
• Message content: only the content of messages where Tio is mentioned or a task is triggered (e.g. a receipt photo, a reminder text).
• Payment information: processed securely via Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Usage data: basic logs about which features are used, for product improvement and abuse prevention.

4. How We Use Your Information

• To provide Tio's core features (bill splitting, reminders, polls, payments)
• To process subscriptions and payments
• To improve the product and fix bugs
• To communicate important service updates
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or spam

5. Third-Party Services

We do not sell your data. We share limited data with the following processors so Tio can work:

• Supabase — database and backend infrastructure
• Anthropic — AI model provider for understanding triggered messages
• Stripe — payment processing
• Twilio — messaging delivery
• Meta / WhatsApp — message delivery on WhatsApp
• Telegram — message delivery on Telegram

6. Data Retention

• Messages: automatically deleted after 90 days.
• Account data: kept while your account is active.
• Payment records: retained as required by tax and accounting law.

7. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

We are GDPR and CCPA compliant. Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Export your data in a portable format
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Object to certain processing activities

8. Security

We use industry-standard security practices: encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage, access controls, and secure secret management. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.

9. Children

Tio is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The "Last updated" date above will always reflect the latest revision. For material changes, we'll notify users directly.
